Tuesday, June 3rd was the eighth official week of the DUFFERS 2008
season. The decent weather we enjoyed
last week was just a pleasant memory as the Duffers played in what was an
almost constant drizzle.
Three more MATCHES were played last night.
That brings the total number of matches played to 12 out of the first
round scheduled 16. It’s time to
finalize your playing arrangements with your opponent. Contact and pairing information is available
on the web site and the Creekwood patio bulletin board. GOOD LUCK to those who have elected

Attendance
at our first really rainy day of the spring was pretty light with only 40 of
50 members (80%) and 5
guests making it through the soggy conditions. Of those 40 members who showed up, only six opted for a rain
check and sat out the wet conditions. Member
attendance for the year remains 92%, while total attendance, including
guests and make-up rounds remains an outstanding 99%.

With last night’s rain, who cares??
With 50 members and the NASA league ahead of us, the Duffers MUST
play READY GOLF!
Be ready to hit when it’s your turn.
Plan in advance; think about your up-coming shot while you’re
approaching the ball and go ahead and hit it if there is no one else in the
vicinity, regardless of who has honors.
If you are not in another player’s way, line up your putt while
another player is hitting his. Regardless
of the ‘beer girl’ not everyone in the foursome needs to hang around
the beer cart when she is present, someone should be hitting the ball while
others are buying the beer. Please
recognize that ‘your proper position on the
golf course is behind the group in front of you, NOT in front of the group
behind you!’

Needed…
Paul Chichester has a friend whose son has been diagnosed with
leukemia. To help out with medical
costs, Paul has put together a FUNDRAISING GOLF OUTING to be held at
Sweetbriar G.C. in Avon Lake on August 2nd at 11:30. Click here, or check
out the Duffers home page, or see Paul Chichester for more information. Hopefully, “The Duffers” will be able to get
a few foursomes together to help out.

trimmings, catered by Alexander’s.
Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are:
Mark Roth, Todd Cramer, Josh ‘Pronk’ Bunevich, Mike Milam,
and Chip Dubosh. Chip was added to replace Gerry Rapp.
Their
duties are to: ENCOURAGE participation, ensure correct
sign-in and tabulation, watch and sort the money, ensure there is no ‘after
posting’, assist in score keeping, and help with prize money
distribution.
If you have any suggestions or ideas about how the Skin Game can be run more
efficiently speak with a committee member, or Stanny

DAY…
Our friends at Creekwood
G.C. are celebrating their 48th anniversary, Saturday June 14th. It’s a great way to observe summers
arrival and party with a few of your Creekwood friends. For only $75 (cash or check) you get golf (18 holes, individual stroke
play), ˝ cart, lunch, dinner, beer, and PRIZES! The menu, which is catered by Alexander’s, consists of a PIG
ROAST, Bar-B-Q Chicken, sausage & kraut, rigatoni, salad, and
all the trimmings. Deadline for payment

This year’s remaining date is Friday, August 29th at Eagle Creek GC
