LEAGUE INFO…
Recap…
Tuesday, May 29th was the seventh official week and first KnockDown
of the DUFFERS 2007 season.
KnockDown #1 results can be observed by clicking the link back on the
Home Page.
FYI… to new members and as a reminder to established Duffers,
“KnockDown Bonus Points can only be awarded to those attending regularly
scheduled Tuesday events.”
Once again, a BIG THANKS to Patrick Keaton, Frank Bago, Mike Bartell,
Gerry Rapp, Mickey Lima, and Dale Sandvick for their successful efforts in
getting out FunNites off to a successful start. Be sure to thank them for their efforts!
Attendance at this weeks KnockDown was EXCELLENT with 55 (2 pre-play)
of 57 members (96%) and 3
guests making their way to the first tee.
Member attendance for the year has risen to 90%, while total attendance,
including guests and make-up rounds is an EXCELLENT 98%.
MAKE-UP ROUNDS reported for Wk #06

MEMBERS WHO MISSED Wk #07 and the first of four KnockDowns this year

Bob Nimrichter
REMEMBER, you have one week to play your make-up round. You must play the same side
that the league was originally scheduled to play. Turn your scorecards in to a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff
Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to Stanny
personally on Tuesday.
’07 Scheduled Events…
Here are the tentative dates (weather permitting) for this year’s Duffer
Events.
Fun Nites…
#’s 2 & 3 are June 26th, and August 14th.
KnockDowns…
Remaining KnockDowns are scheduled for:
July 3rd (back 9), August 7th (front 9),
and Sept. 11th (back 9).
The second
“Glenn McLaughlin Summer Solstice” Bonus Points Tournament…
scheduled for June 19th most likely will not be played. The size of our league and time restraints
with the leagues opposite The Duffers makes this event
impossible at this time. However, the
Summer Solstice still affords you a great opportunity to get in 18 holes,
should you so desire.
Final Outing…
The Final Outing is being held Saturday, Sept. 15th,
9:00, at Creekwood Golf Course. Mark
your calendars now!
FYI, we
will be enjoying a steak roast with all the trimmings, catered by Alexander’s.
Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are: Frank Bago, Patrick Keaton, Todd Cramer, Mickey Lima,
and Gerry Rapp.
Their duties are to: ENCOURAGE participation from both
members and guests, ensure correct sign-in and tabulation, watch and
sort the money, ensure there is no ‘after posting’, assist in score
keeping, and help with prize money distribution. If you have any suggestions or ideas about how the Skin Game can
be run more efficiently please see one of them or Stanny.
RESULTS for

and one unknown guest
Hey
guys… it’s just like the lotto, ‘you can’t win if you don’t PLAY!
Ten
weeks of Duffers in-the-books and you can’t find the ‘Skin Box’?!
Please, encourage your guests to participate in
the Skin Game! After all, they are
taking away valuable tee times from other “dues paying members”.
Thi$ week$
money winner$ were…
Low Net (31)
– John Little – $46 - (second
week in a row winning low net)
Pin #4 – Dave Haeberlie – $46
Pin #7 –
John (Stanny) Stanbrook – $46
Two Skins
were out @ $46 each…
#4 – birdie – Dave Haeberlie
#8 – EAGLE – Frank Bago
Tradition
dictates that the winners buy the drinks, or be heckled miserably!
NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET! It’s a pretty television graphic
presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!
MORON’S
CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL
skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.
55-16 = 39 not 34 – Tom Reiss
a friendly REMINDER…
It is each and every
member’s personal responsibility to insure that his own score is CORRECTLY
recorded (both gross and net) on the weekly skin / work
sheet. Even
though you may not have been the person keeping score for the foursome, it is
your duty to insure that it was done correctly! Do it
right and you won’t end up listed in the “Moron’s Corner”!
NOTE: If you wish to be considered for the ‘net’ portion of the ‘Skin
Game’, the ‘net score box’ must be properly filled in.
CREEKWOOD
DAY…
Our friends at Creekwood G.C. are celebrating their 47th
anniversary, Saturday June 23rd.
It’s a great way to observe summers arrival and party with a few of
your Creekwood friends. For
only $70 (cash or check) you get golf
(18 holes, individual stroke play), ½ cart, lunch, dinner, beer, and
PRIZES! The menu, which is catered by
Alexander’s, consists of a PIG ROAST, Bar-B-Q Chicken, sausage &
kraut, rigatoni, salad, and all the trimmings. Deadline for payment is Tuesday June 12th. See
Lisa, in the clubhouse, to sign-up or if you have any questions.
LARRY LAHIFF'S SKIN
GAMES…
are a great way to s t r e t c
h the summer holiday weekends and
play a round of golf with friends at one of the areas FINEST golf courses.
This years remaining dates are; Friday July 6th, and
Friday August 31st.
Again this year, the event will be held at Eagle Creek GC in Norwalk. The first
tee time is ~9:30 and everyone is welcome to attend.
See Larry for further details or if you have any questions.
