Recap…
Tuesday, August 8th was Wk #15, and the Duffers third of
three FunNites scheduled for the 2006 season. The weather was perfect with sunny skies and
80-degree temperatures, definitely one of the nicest evenings to play golf that
we have had all year! The FUN portion
of last night activities was a three-man NET GreenBall
Tournament. We had 13 teams with six
GreenBalls returning to the scorer’s table.
GreenBall tournament results can be viewed at the Duffer
website under FunNite #3. The food,
roast beef sandwiches and roasted corn-on-the- cob were GREAT! A big THANKS and a round of applause goes
out to Tom Thomasson, Frank Bago, Gerry Rapp, and Patrick Keaton for putting
together another GREAT FunNite! J
Our first group teed-off at 4:35 while the final group replaced the
flagstick at about 8:50 after spending about 15 minutes looking for
their GreenBall on the 8th
hole! Being a FunNite,
attendance was unexpectedly poor with only 42 of 54 members (78%)
and 5 guests enjoying the evening’s festivities. Member attendance for the year has now dropped to a disappointing
85%, while total attendance including guests and make-up rounds remains
at 91%!

Because Tuesday’s activities did NOT include any special format, make-up
scores will be accepted in the usual manner and missed rounds will count
against your attendance.
REMEMBER, you have one week to play your make-up rounds. You must play the same side
that the league was originally scheduled to play. Turn your scorecards in to a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff
Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to Stanny on
Tuesday.
Points Standings
are current as of Tuesday August 1st. These results can be used to determine potential opponents for
KnockDown #3 which is being held next Tuesday August 15th. DON’T MISS IT!
Handicaps, Points, and
total Skin winnings are updated weekly.

Tradition
dictates that they buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!
NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET! It’s a pretty television graphic
presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!
MORON’S
CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL
skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.
The corner is unbelievably EMPTY again this week! J
a friendly REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the
scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!
LARRY LAHIFF'S SKIN
GAMES…
are a great way to s t r
e t c h the summer holiday
weekends and play a round of golf with friends at one of the areas FINEST golf
courses.
This years remaining date is Friday September 1st.
Again this year, all three events will be held at Eagle Creek GC in Norwalk.
The first tee time is ~9:30 and everyone is welcome to attend.
See Larry for further details or if you have any questions.
