Tuesday, June 13th was the eighth official week of the DUFFERS 2006
season. The weather was perfect yet
again with bright blue skies and 70-degree temperatures. Creekwood C.C. is plush, green, and
beautiful. The greens were fast but a bit bumpy making every putt an adventure
not to mention the heavy, thick rough which must be avoided to have any chance
of making a birdie at Creekwood these days!
FYI… There will be NO league play on Tuesday July 4th!
Our first group teed-off at 4:36 while the final group replaced the
flagstick at 8.47. My group (2nd
last) played our round in 2:40! Seems
we are developing quite a back-up on the par threes, does anyone think that we
should start letting groups on the tee hit-up to alleviate these hold-ups?
Attendance was below par with 42 of 54 members (78%) and 3 guests (83%) making their
way to the tee box. With last nights
excellent conditions, member attendance for the year is 87%, while total
attendance, including guests and make-up rounds is 91%.
The League still needs your HELP…

Tuesday.

As a result of discussions held during the Spring Kick-off meeting, I am
publishing a list of tentative dates (weather permitting) for this
year’s Duffer Events.
FunNites…
May 30th, June 27th, and August 8th
KnockDowns…
May 30th (front 9), July 11th (front 9),
August 15th (back 9), and Sept. 5th (front 9).
Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are: Patrick Keaton, Gerry Rapp, Pat Anderson III, Randy Dudinsky,
Frank Bago, & Todd Cramer.
If you have any suggestions or ideas about how the Skin Game can be run
more efficiently please see one of them or Stanny.

CREEKWOOD DAY…
Our friends at Creekwood G.C. are celebrating their 46th
anniversary, Saturday June 24th.
It’s a great way to observe summers arrival and party with a few of
your friends. For only $70 (cash or check) you get golf (18 holes,
individual stroke play), ½ cart, lunch, dinner, beer, and PRIZES! The menu, which is catered by Alexander’s,
consists of a PIG ROAST, Bar-B-Q Chicken, sausage & kraut,
rigatoni, salad, and all the trimmings.
Deadline for payment is Tuesday June 13th. See Amy, in
the clubhouse, for further details or if you have any questions.

are a great way to s t r

weekends and play a round of golf with friends at one of the areas FINEST golf
courses.
This years remaining dates are; Monday July 3rd, and
Friday September 1st.
Again this year, all three events will be held at Eagle Creek GC in Norwalk.
The first tee time is ~9:30 and everyone is welcome to attend.
