Recap…
Tuesday, May 30th was Wk #6, and the Duffers first of three FunNites scheduled for the 2006 season.  Also held last night was KnockDown #1.  The weather was hot…Hot…HOT… and muggy.  Lots of riding carts were used last light!
Our first group teed-off at 4:45 while the final group replaced the flagstick at 8:45.  Most rounds were completed in about 2:20 although there were a number of complaints about a certain 3-sum that was playing towards the rear of the pack.  Seems that the cart riders will NOT get out of the cart unless they are hitting their own shots.  Never leaving ones cart-partner alone in the woods to hit their own ball located on the opposite side of the course.  Some ‘cartmanhip’ coaching may be necessary.
Being a FunNite, attendance was expectedly good with 51 of 54 members (94%) and 0 guests enjoying the evening’s festivities.  Next time you see Dale Sandvick, please thank him for getting the pizza and beer together!
Member attendance for the year has been rising steadily and is now 87%, while total attendance including guests and make-up rounds, has finally reached the 90% mark!

Because Tuesday’s activities did NOT include any special format, make-up scores will be accepted in the usual manner.
REMEMBER, you have one week to play your make-up rounds.  You must play the same side that the league was originally scheduled to play.  Turn your scorecards in to a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to Stanny on Tuesday.

SKIN RESULTS for Wk #6…
we had 50 out of the 51 players (98%) in the game for a pot of  $250
those not playing were…
Scott Wickham

Hey man… it’s just like the lotto, ‘you can’t win if you don’t PLAY!

Low Net (29) – Jim Grimmer - $25
Low Net (29) – Tom Thomasson - $25
Pin #4 – Frank Bago – $50

Pin #7 – Tom Reiss – $50 – and he MISSED that 14-inch putt???

Three Skins were out @ $33 each
#2 – birdie – Rick Leer
#8 – birdie – Frank Bago – it’s MILLER TIME now Frank!!
#9 – birdie – Mickey Lima
Tradition dictates that they buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!
NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET!  It’s a pretty television graphic presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!

MORON’S CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.

Lots-o-morons last night… must have been the HEAT!

5+5+5+4+8+4+4+4+5 = 44 not 46Larry Lahiff
6+4+5+3+4+5+3+5+4 = 39 not 44 – Mickey Lima
47-17 = 30 not 40 – Ron Cross
44-6 = 38 not 36 – Mickey (herb) Lima
47-10 = 37 not 35 – John Little
a friendly REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!

CREEKWOOD DAY…
Our friends at Creekwood G.C. are celebrating their 46th anniversary, Saturday June 24th.  It’s a great way to observe summers arrival and party with a few of your friends.  For only  $70 (cash or check) you get golf (18 holes, individual stroke play), ½ cart, lunch, dinner, beer, and PRIZES!  The menu, which is catered by Alexander’s, consists of a PIG ROAST, Bar-B-Q Chicken, sausage & kraut, rigatoni, salad, and all the trimmings.  Deadline for payment is Tuesday June 13th. See Amy, in the clubhouse, for further details or if you have any questions.
