LEAGUE INFO…
Recap…
Tuesday, May 9th was the third official week of the DUFFERS 2006
season. The weather was perfect
(73 and sunny) and so was the total attendance! Creekwood C.C. was plush, green, and
beautiful; too bad the greens were still rather bumpy due to last week’s
aeration.
Attendance was good with 48 of 53 members (91%) and 7 guests (104%) making
their way to the tee box. With last
nights GREAT weather, member attendance for the year has risen to 81%,
while total attendance, including guests and make-up rounds is 85%.
DUES ($100) and are now past due
those who still owe are…
Pat Anderson II – medical leave
Rick Kayfes – is our missing league President; I wonder where Rick’s been?

REMEMBER, you have one week to play your make-up rounds. You must play the same side
that the league was originally scheduled to play. Turn your scorecards in to a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff
Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to Stanny on
Tuesday.
’06 Scheduled Events…
As a result of discussions held during the Spring Kick-off meeting, I am
publishing a list of tentative dates (weather permitting) for this
year’s Duffer Events.
Fun Nites…
May 23rd, June 27th, and August 8th.
With the departure of ‘The Pfeils’ and Pat Anderson’s medical problems, we need
volunteers to step-up and help out on this committee. Could YOU please lend a hand and volunteer for this
committee?
Your Outing Committee members are: Pat Anderson II, and Dale Sandvick.
Knock-Downs…
May 30th (front 9), July 11th (front 9),
August 15th (back 9), and Sept. 5th (front 9).
Fun Nite
#1…
our first FunNite of the ’06 season is scheduled (weather permitting)
for May 23rd. To date, as
expected, no volunteers have come forward to help out with the FunNite
Committee. I highly doubt that Dale
Sandvick will be putting it all together by himself. If you want your FunNites to go off ‘as scheduled’,
something has to be done! Do you have
any ideas what we should do? Stanny’s
idea would be to just cancel it, L
what’s your idea?
Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are: Patrick Keaton, Gerry Rapp, Pat Anderson III, Randy Dudinsky,
Frank Bago, & Todd Cramer.
If you have any suggestions or ideas about how the Skin Game can be run
more efficiently please see one of them or Stanny.
Thanks for the help guys! J
SKIN
RESULTS for Wk #3…
we had 50 out of the 55 players (91%) in the game
for a pot of $247??
Low Net (30) – Pete White – $49 – can you believe that he actually predicted it on his way
to the tee box!
Pin #12 – Bill Bunevich – $49
Pin #17
– Mike Baker – $49
Four Skins were out @ $25 each…
#13 – birdie – Mark Sustarsic
#16 – birdie – Mickey Lima
#17 – birdie – Al Bass
#18 – birdie – Mike Milam
Tradition
dictates that they buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!
NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET! It’s a pretty television graphic
presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!
MORON’S
CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL
skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.
6+6+4+7+5+7+7+4+6 = 52 not 53 – Wayne Cerney
a friendly REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the
scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!
LARRY LAHIFF'S SKIN
GAMES…
are a great way to s t r e t c
h the summer holiday weekends and
play a round of golf with friends at one of the areas FINEST golf courses.
This years dates are; Friday May 26th, Monday July 3rd,
and Friday September 1st.
Again this year, all three events will be held at Eagle Creek GC in Norwalk.
The first tee time is ~9:30 and everyone is welcome to attend.
See Larry for further details or if you have any questions.
CREEKWOOD DAY…
Our friends at Creekwood G.C. are celebrating their 46th
anniversary, Saturday June 24th.
It’s a great way to observe summers arrival and party with a few of
your friends. For only $70 (cash or check) you get golf (18 holes,
individual stroke play), ½ cart, lunch, dinner, beer, and PRIZES! The menu, which is catered by Alexander’s,
consists of a PIG ROAST, Bar-B-Q Chicken, sausage & kraut,
rigatoni, salad, and all the trimmings.
Deadline for payment is Tuesday June 13th. See Amy, in
the clubhouse, for further details or if you have any questions.
