March 15, 2006

Hey Duffer,

It’s getting to be that time of year again, “Duffers 2006” is right around the corner.  Soon we will be enjoying pleasant, sunny, warm Tuesday evenings at Creekwood Country Club.  I’m writing to invite you to attend The Duffers Annual Spring Kick Off Meeting, being held Sunday, March 26th, 2006, 12:00 noon, at the Creekwood Club House.  Golf, if you are interested, will follow the meeting, weather permitting.

Let me remind you that this is your only opportunity to determine league policy for the up-coming season and that you need not be present to be voted onto a committee or elected to serve as a league officer.

As usual, all Topics are open to discussion, including these same old standards…

League Officer Elections

President…
Candidates must exhibit a genuine interest in the betterment of ‘The Duffers’ and a desire to be involved and assist with most League activities.

Secretary…
Candidates should possess organizational and mathematical skills, a love of the game, better than average understanding of the rules, and a real interest in the betterment of ‘The Duffers’.

Treasurer…
Candidates should be ‘trust worthy’, have good attendance, especially early in the season, and be able to interact well with his fellow league members.

Final Outing…

Menu:              BBQ Ribs, Steaks, Clam Bake, or something else, have any ideas???

Other topics up for discussion this year are...

Should the existing tournaments, rules, and procedures be continued as is, or adjusted?  Should League dues remain $100 and be paid-in-full by the first official week of play, April 25th?  Should the points-for-pay procedure and visitor policy regarding the 'Skin Game' and the Fianal Outing be retained?

If you have any other ideas, suggestions, comments, or new members, please join us at the meeting.

.

FYI   Practice rounds begin April 4th; with the first official play date being April 25th

Fun nights, weather permitting, are tentatively scheduled for May 23rd, June 27th, and August 8th

I hope you’ve had a good and prosperous winter, and look forward to seeing you again soon.  As in years past, if I do not hear from you, I will assume that you will NOT be playing this year.

Sincerely,

John Stanbrook  (Stanny)
