Hey
Duffer; (edited 4/24)
This e-mail is being sent to this year’s active members who have e-mail access, and to those of you who have indicated a desire to remain informed of The Duffers current events. Please pass this info on to your friends who don’t have internet access. If you don’t wish to receive any more Duffer up-dates, just let me know and I will remove you from this mailing list. The Duffers new and improved adds-free Website has been up-dated and displays the most current league info along with some past history. If you’re interested, you can keep up with the latest Duffer News at…
http://www.geocities.com/jrsduffer/
Why not BOOKMARK it in your favorites folder and check in
weekly? Once the league gets going,
I will most likely have current info posted by Thursday mornings, at the
latest.
Next
Tuesday, April 25th
is the official
start of the 2006 edition of the Duffers Golf League.
So far this year…
The spring kick-off meeting was held, where the usual and new business was conducted, practice rounds have been played, new members have been introduced, and dues have been collected. All that’s left to do is, go over some procedures, count the membership, and head out to the teeing ground!

A FEW
REMINDERS…
Final
Outing…
Saturday, Sept.
9th @ 9:30,
CLEAR
YOUR CALENDARS NOW!
New Skin
Committee…
Because of ‘drop-outs’ the Skin Committee has been
reconfigured. This years committee appointees are:
Patrick
Keaton,
Gerry Rapp, Pat Anderson III, Randy Dudinsky, Frank Bago, & Todd
Cramer.
Their duties are to: ENCOURAGE
participation (members and guests), ensure correct sign-in and
tabulation, watch the money, ensure there is no ‘after posting’, assist
in score keeping, and help with prize distribution.
SKIN GAME
($5.00)…
Remains voluntary and self serve. It is open to VISITORS but closed to
league members whose dues are NOT paid in full.
Skin /
Worksheet…
It is each and every member’s
personal responsibility to insure that his own score is CORRECTLY
recorded (both gross and net) on the weekly skin / work
sheet. Even
though you may not have been the person keeping score for the foursome, it is
your duty to insure that it was done correctly! Do it right and you won’t end up listed
in the “Moron’s Corner”!
DUES…
remain
$100 and will be considered past due if not paid in full by the end of play,
this coming Tuesday. No Weekly
Tournament Points will be awarded to members whose dues have not been paid in
full. If you have any questions
or need special consideration concerning your dues speak with Stanny
privately.
Weather…
Once
the regular season starts, ‘The Duffers’ usually play regardless of the
weather. Unless it’s snowing or
lightening, ‘The Duffers’ usually play.
If it’s been raining all day, chances are better than 95% that it will
clear up at Creekwood by 4:30, and ‘The Duffers’ will play. Ask any member of long standing and they
will tell you about the luck ‘The Duffers’ have with the weather, and ‘The
Duffers’ will play.
The Duffers Play
READY GOLF!
Be ready to hit when it’s
your turn. Plan in advance;
think about your impending shot while you’re approaching the ball and go ahead
and hit it if there is no one else in the vicinity, regardless of who has
honors. If you are not in another
player’s way, line up your putt while another player is hitting his. Regardless of the ‘beer
girl’ not everyone in the foursome needs to hang around the beer cart
when she is present, someone should be hitting the ball while others are
buying the beer.
Please recognize that ‘your proper position on the
golf course is behind the group in front of you, NOT in front of the group
behind you!’
Dale
Sandvick…
Fellow Duffer and owner of Creekwood GC would like to
remind us all that it is each and every golfers responsibility and pleasure to
REPLACE
DIVOTS and REPAIR BALL MARKS.
That all being said, I am looking forward
to another enjoyable Duffer Season. If you won’t be joining us this year, I hope
that you’ll be able to play as a visitor or just stop by and enjoy a cold
beverage with your Duffer friends.
Hope to see you soon,
John Stanbrook (Stanny)
