LEAGUE INFO…

Recap…
Tuesday, June 28th was the ninth official week of the DUFFERS 2005 season.  It seems strange to me that the season is almost half over already.  Although the skies were threatening and some local lightning was observed, the Duffers GREAT WEATHER LUCK continued and the whole league was able to get around the course without getting wet.  Creekwood is starting to show some signs of the recent HOT weather but all in all, the course REMAINS IN GREAT SHAPE!  Attendance again this week was disappointing with 39 of 47 members (83%) and 4 guests making their way to the tee box.  Member attendance for the year remains 89%, while total attendance, including guests and make-up rounds is 93%.

LARRY LAHIFF'S SKIN GAMES…
is a great way to   s t r e t c h   the summer holiday weekends and play a round of golf with friends at one of the areas FINEST golf courses.

THIS Friday July 1, Eagle Creek Golf Course, Norwalk.

Everyone is welcome to attend. The first tee time is 9:30.
See Larry for further details or if you have any questions.

KnockDown #2…
Our second KnockDown Tournament of the year will be held next Tuesday July 5th.  As in all KnockDowns, you must be present on Tuesday in order to win any KnockDown BONUS POINTS.

FunNite #2…
Will be held Tuesday July 12th.  The menu, because of budget restraints, has been changed to an all American favorite, hot dogs and hamburgers, with all the trimmings.  I’ve heard a rumor that the world famous Billy BEANS will also be served.  I hope Bill Pfeil Jr. brings a bigger pot-o-beans to this even than he did last time.  J

HANDICAPS…
are adjusted weekly!  Check out how yours has changed by going to the 05 REPORT section of the Duffer web page.

MEMBERS WHO MISSED Wk. #9
Pat Anderson III
Mike Baker
Mike Bartell
Wayne Cerney
Mickey Lima – busy putting up the family pool
Dale Mercer
Brian Pfeil
John (Stanny) Stanbrook – too much arm pain to play
REMEMBER… you have just one week to play make-up rounds.  You must play the same side that the league was originally scheduled to play.  Turn your scorecards into a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to me on Tuesday.

Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are: Wayne Reisinger, Pete White, Dave Gedeon, Mike Milam, and Mark Hodgson.  If you have any suggestions or ideas about how the Skin Game can be run more efficiently please see one of them or myself.

Tradition dictates that the winners buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!

NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET!  It’s a pretty television graphic presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!

MORON’S CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.

5+8+4+7+4+7+6+4+4 = 49 NOT 52Ron (RP) Pereira

a friendly REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!
