Recap…
Tuesday, June 21st was the eighth official week of the DUFFERS 2005 season and inaugural Glenn McLaughlin Summer Solstice Bonus Points Tournament.  YES, Glenn was in attendance and we saw another old Duffer friend, JZ.  It’s always GREAT to see former Duffers return and play a-round!  The weather was GREAT!  It was warm, and sunny, and the conditions were perfect!  Creekwood C.C. has been a PLEASURE to play this year.   Attendance was a bit disappointing again this week with 40 of 48 members (83%) and 2 guests making their way to the tee box.  Member attendance for the year remains 89%, while total attendance, including guests and make-up rounds is 93%.

CREEKWOOD DAY is this coming Saturday…
Payment should already be made.
Our friends at Creekwood G.C. are celebrating their 45th anniversary, Saturday June 25th.  It’s a great way to celebrate summers arrival and party with your friends.  For only  $70 (cash or check) you get golf (18 holes, individual stroke play), ½ cart, lunch, dinner, beer, and PRIZES!  The menu, which is catered by Alexander’s, consists of a PIG ROAST, Bar-B-Q Chicken, sausage & kraut, rigatoni, salad, and all the trimmings.  Deadline for payment is Tuesday June 14th. See Amy, in the clubhouse, for details.

HANDICAPS…

REMEMBER… you have just one week to play make-up rounds.  You must play the same side that the league was originally scheduled to play.  Turn your scorecards into a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to me on Tuesday.

Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are: Wayne Reisinger, Bob Kohtz, Pete White, Dave Gedeon, and Mike Milam.  If you have any suggestions or ideas about how the Skin Game can be run more efficiently please see one of them or myself.

SKIN RESULTS for Wk #8…
we had 38 out of the 40 players (95%) in the game for a pot of  $185…???
Those wimps not playing were…
Kevin Anderson
Scott Anderson
Bob Kosky
Dale Sandvick
Come on guys, join in the fun, it’s just like the lottery; ‘you can’t win if you don’t play’!

Low Net (30) – Larry Lahiff – $37
Pin #4 – Gregg Randolph – $37
Pin #7 – Frank Bago – $37

Five Skins were out at $15 each
#2 – birdie – Ted Barrows
#3 – birdie – Dennis Gedeon
#7 – birdie – Frank Bago
#8 – birdie – Gregg Randolph
#9 – birdie – Ted Barrows
Tradition dictates that the winners buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!

NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET!  It’s a pretty television graphic presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!

SKIN RESULTS for Solstice Tournament, Wk #8a…
we had 26 players a pot of  $135… ???

Low Net (29) – Wayne Reisinger – $27
Pin #12 – Paul Scott – $27
Pin #17 – Mark Clark – $27

Three Skins were out at $18 each
#12 – birdie – Pat Anderson II
#14 – birdie – Pat Anderson II
#15 – birdie – Gerry Rapp
Tradition still dictates that the winners buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!

MORON’S CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.

5+4+3+3+7+7+4+5+6 = 44 NOT 45Denny Gedeon
4+5+5+3+6+4+3+4+5 = 39 NOT 38 – Mark Sustarsic
4+7+4+6+4+5+9+4+3 = 46 NOT 48 – Dave Gedeon
42-8 = 34 Not 36 – Bob Kohtz
a friendly REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!
