LEAGUE INFO…

Recap…
Tuesday, May 17th was the third official week of the DUFFERS 2005 season.  The weather was sunny but cool, definitely a pleasant spring evening at ‘the club’. Again, Creekwood CC was in excellent condition!  In the more than twenty years the Duffers have been playing at Creekwood, the grass has never been as thick and green as it is this year.  The rough is truly ROUGH making the fairways THE premium place to be!

Attendance was very good with 44 of 48 members (92%) and 6 guests making their way to the tee box.  Member attendance for the year has risen to 92%, while total attendance, including guests and make-up rounds is an EXCELLENT 97%.

To those of you who have been making it a habit of teeing off early, I would like to remind you the official league tee time is 4:41!  Please understand that Creekwood GC and its employees are extending you the courtesy of teeing off early.  In the event that another league starts before us or the golf course is busy with open play, you, as a league member, contracted to tee off beginning at 4:41, will be required to wait and play at our regularly scheduled time. Please remember that it’s a privilege for you to be teeing off early and treat the counter staff and starters with respect!

Fun Nite #1…
is scheduled (weather permitting) for the Tuesday following Labor Day, May 31st.  At this time, I believe that Pat is leaning towards having SUBWAY subs to eat, pop and beer to drink, while the FUN portion is ‘still up for grabs’.  If you have any ideas or thoughts about the menu or games see your Fun Nite Committee Members, Pat Anderson II (chairman), Bill Pfeil Jr., Brian Pfeil, Dale Sandvick, or Stanny.

HANDICAPS…
have been adjusted!  Check out how yours has changed by going to the 05 REPORT section of the Duffer web page.

REMEMBER, you have one week to play make-up rounds.  You must play the same side that the league was originally scheduled to play.  Turn your scorecards into a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to me on Tuesday.

Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are: Wayne Reisinger, Bob Kohtz, Pete White, Dave Gedeon, and Mike Milam.  If you have any suggestions or ideas about how the Skin Game can be run more efficiently please see one of them or myself.

One Skin was out @ $72
#12 – birdie – Gerry Rapp – had a VERY GOOD DAY!  (wimps take note) J
Tradition dictates that the winners buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!

NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET!  It’s a pretty television graphic presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!

MORON’S CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.

5+5+4+7+7+7+5+3+4 = 47 not 48 – Ted Barrows
6+5+4+7+5+6+6+4+5 = 48 not 49 – Brian Pfeil
a friendly REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!

LARRY LAHIFF'S SKIN GAMES…
are a great way to   s t r e t c h   the summer holiday weekends and play a round of golf with friends at one of the areas FINEST golf courses.
