LEAGUE INFO…

Recap…
Tuesday, May 10th was the second official week of the DUFFERS 2005 season.  The weather was TYPICAL DUFFER with a thunderstorm blowing through the area at about 4:00, BUT, in true Duffer fashion, the skies cleared and the sun was shining by the start of league activities.  It was sunny and warm, about 73 degrees I’d guess.   With the exception of the just aerated greens, Creekwood C.C. is in excellent condition.  I have never seen the grass so thick and green there at Dales golf course, did anyone ever think that the rough at Creekwood would present shot making concerns?

Attendance was good with 42 of 47 members (89%) and 1 guest making their way to the tee box.  Member attendance for the year is 89%, while total attendance, including guests and make-up rounds is 90%.

To those of you who have been making it a habit of teeing off early, I would like to remind you the official league tee time is 4:41!  Please understand that Creekwood GC and its employees are extending you the courtesy of teeing off early.  In the event that another league starts before us or the golf course is busy with open play, you, as a league member, contracted to tee off beginning at 4:41, will be required to wait and play at our regularly scheduled time. Please remember that it’s a privilege for you to be teeing off early and treat the counter staff and starters with respect!

Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are: Wayne Reisinger, Bob Kohtz, Pete White, Dave Gedeon, and Mike Milam.  If you have any suggestions or ideas about how the Skin Game can be run more efficiently please see one of them or myself.

A special thanks and a round of applause goes out to Wayne Reisinger and Pete White for their efforts organizing the skin monies last nigh!  Your help and involvement is greatly appreciated.

SKIN RESULTS for Wk #2…
we had 33 out of the 42 players (81%) in the game for a pot of  $165

Low Net (35) – Denny Gedeon  $8
Low Net (35) – Chris Pizzuli  $8
Low Net (35) – Gregg Randolph $8
Low Net (35) – Denny Scheelk $8
Low Net (35) – Rob Sibley $0 – couldn’t play, still owes dues
Pin #4 – Wayne Reisinger – $33
Pin #7 – Scott Anderson –  $33

Three Skins were out @ $22 each
#1 – par – Patrick Keaton – Pete White also had a 4 but still owes dues so he too can’t play Skins
#5 – birdie – Randy Dudinsky
#8 – birdie – Denny Gedeon

#9 – birdie – Bill Hathaway - but he neglected to get into the game.  You think he will learn?
Tradition dictates that they buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!

NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET!  It’s a pretty television graphic presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!

MORON’S CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.

After last weeks overflowing conditions (lots of Jethros) I’m happy to report that the corner is empty this week.  Good job guys!

a friendly REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!

Fun Nite #1…
is tentatively scheduled (weather permitting) for the Tuesday following Labor Day, May 31st.  If you have any ideas or thought about the menu or games see your Fun Nite Committee Members, Pat Anderson II (chairman), Bill Pfeil Jr., Brian Pfeil, Dale Sandvick, or Stanny.
