LEAGUE INFO…
Recap…
Tuesday, August 16th was the fifteenth official week of the DUFFERS
2005 season. What a wonderful evening
it was at Creekwood C.C.! Sunny blue
skies, light breeze, and 80 degrees, if you missed last night, you really
missed one of the nicest nights we’ve had in a long while. This week’s attendance was light but as
expected this time of year. We had 37 of 47 members (79%) and 4 guests make their way to
the tee box. Member weekly
attendance for the year has fallen to a disappointing 87%, while total
attendance, including guests and make-up rounds is 94%.
Former
Duffer needs our HELP…
Former Duffer member, Dan Pulice needs our help. Last winter Dan was in a terrible automobile
accident that left him in a wheel chair, on a ventilator, and with brain
damage. Dan’s health insurance is
running out and his medical bills are mounting. To assist Dan and his family there will be a fundraiser dinner /
raffle Saturday September 10th at St. Clarence pavilion. Price is approximately $55 and includes a
buffet dinner, beer, wine, music, door prizes, and a $1000 raffle. If you would like to attend the dinner /
raffle or would like more detailed information about the dinner or Dan’s
condition, see Stanny, he has a flier that goes into greater detail.
I suggest that the Duffer Golf League assist Dan, our former member, by
donating a portion of this year PRIZE POOL to help him defray his medical
bills. I propose that we contribute
$300, which would be approximately 20% of this year’s Final Outing Prize
Pool. Give me your thoughts on the
matter, if I don’t get too many dissenting opinions, I will go ahead and make
the donation prior to the fundraiser.
FunNite #3…
is scheduled (weather permitting) for next week, August 23rd. The format will be a 4-man scramble (you
pick the teams). Pat has hinted that he
has a special twist in store for us this time around!
HANDICAPS, points and skin totals…
are adjusted weekly! Check out how yours has changed
by going to the ’05

REMEMBER… you have just one week to play make-up rounds. You must play the same side
that the league was originally scheduled to play. Turn your scorecards into a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff
Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to me on
Tuesday.
Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are: Wayne Reisinger, Pete White, Dave Gedeon, Mike Milam, and
Mark Hodgson.
If you have any suggestions
or ideas about how the Skin Game can be run more efficiently please see one of
them or myself.
SKIN
RESULTS for Wk #15…
we had 35 out of the 37 players (95%) in the game
for a pot of $170…
Those wimps not playing were…
Mike Baker
Joe Kayfes
Come on guys, join in the fun, it’s just like the lottery; ‘you can’t
win if you don’t play’!
Tuesday’s Skins…
Low Net (30) – Greg Randolph – $34 – played his way back into
the Championship Tournament after missing 3 weeks however he must now maintain 100%
attendance for the remainder of the season to avoid the CONSOLATION
Tournament.
Pin #4 – Mark Hodgson – $34
Pin
#7 – Scott Wickham – $34
Two Skins were out at $34 each…
#4 – birdie – Randy Dudinsky
#8 – birdie – Dave Haeberlie
Tradition
dictates that the winners buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!
NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET! It’s a pretty television graphic
presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!
MORON’S
CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills
of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.
46-9 = 37 NOT 35 – Dan Stanik – Pat does a better ciphering job for you
Dan!
A friendly
REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the
scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!
LARRY LAHIFF'S SKIN
GAMES…
are a great way to s t r
e t c h the summer holiday
weekends and play a round of golf with friends at one of the areas FINEST golf
courses. Because of the success of
Larry’s last Skin Game, he has scheduled another event.
Friday September 2, again at Eagle Creek Golf Course, Norwalk.
Everyone is welcome to attend. The first tee time is 9:30.
See Larry for further details or if you have any questions.
'Till Tuesday,
