LEAGUE INFO…

Recap…
Tuesday, June 8th was the fifth play date and first KnockDown of the DUFFERS 2004 season.  The weather was sunny and hot.  Creekwood is finally drying out, now all we need is for the greens to be rolled to get the bumps out.  The wet weather this year has caused attendance to be rather sparse and disappointing but with yesterdays glorious weather I would have expected a much better turn out than the 35 of  44 members (80%) and 4 guests that we had make their way to the tee box.  Member attendance for the year is a disappointing 85%, while total attendance, including guests and make-up rounds, has fallen to a below par 93%.

Handicaps…
are now being adjusted weekly.  Check out your latest revised handicap on the weekly Skin Sheet or by clicking the REPORT link on the website.

Knock Down #1

Fun Night #2

REMEMBER
, you have one week to play make-up rounds.  You must play the same side that the league was originally scheduled to play.  Turn your scorecards into a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to me on Tuesday.

DUES collection for the ’04 season has ended.  After having more than ten weeks to get your dues paid, those few of you who have not yet paid have been culled from the herd.   Joe Kayfes, Rick Kayfes, Frank Law, and Tony Prock can always start anew for the paltry sum of only $100.

SKIN RESULTS for Wk #5…
We had 31 players for a pot of  $155

Low Net (30) – Denny Scheelk - $15
Low Net (30) – Dan (Radar) Stanik - $15
Pin #12 – Dave Haeberlie - $31
Pin #17 – Denny Scheelk - $31

Three Skins were out @ $20 each…
#10 – birdie – Roger Boone…  OMG he didn’t get in the game…
when will these NEW GUYS LEARN????  Let me recalculate…

#12 - birdie – Mike Nagle - $31
#16 – birdie – Bruce Straslicka - $31

Congratulate the winners next time you see them.
Tradition dictates that they buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!
NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET!  It makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!

MORON’S CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.

Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!

Creekwood Day…

Our friends at Creekwood G.C. are celebrating their 44th anniversary, Saturday June 19th.  It’s a great way to celebrate summers arrival and party with your friends.  For only  $70 (cash or check) you get golf (18 holes, individual stroke play), ½ cart, lunch, dinner, and PRIZES!  The menu consists of a PIG ROAST, Bar-B-Q Chicken, sausage & kraut, rigatoni, salad, and all the trimmings.  Deadline for payment is Tuesday June 15th. See Amy, in the clubhouse, for details.
