Recap…
Tuesday, August 17th was Wk #15 and the Duffers third and
final FUN NITE of the 2004 season.
We held a blind draw, fully handicapped Best Ball Tournament; you can
see the results by clicking the links on the home page or in this document.
Besides the food and the fun, KnockDown #4 was also held yesterday. The yearlong Points Tournament is coming
down to the wire and all points are important at this juncture. One or two more KnockDowns will be
held before the season ends and the winner has been determined. Check in often to watch and root for your
favorite players.
Attendance was disappointing for a Fun Nite with only 36 of 44
members (82%) and 9 guests enjoying the evening’s
festivities. Member attendance for the
year has now slipped to a disturbing 84%, but, total attendance for the
year, including guests and make-up rounds, is an excellent 97%.
The
Final Outing…
is being held at Creekwood Country Club, Saturday, September 18th
at 9:00. Mark that date on your calendars!
As a reminder, it’s usually an all day affair. Your dues are finally coming back to you in the form of an 18-hole
tournament. All league members will
receive 18-holes (carts included), lunch at the turn, and dinner
catered by Alexander’s Restaurant. A
prize ceremony will follow dinner.
Start thinking about who and when you want to play. I will have a Tee Time sign-up sheet available soon. As in any Duffer event, GUESTS are
welcomed and encouraged to attend. If you wish to bring a guest to play in your
foursome, the cost will be approximately $80 (Skins / BlindBogey
included). Extra meals for wives,
girl friends, or significant others are available for $20 each.
Handicaps,
Points, and total Skin winnings are updated weekly. Check it out with the REPORT link
MAKE-UP ROUNDS
REPORTED for Wk #14
for the 1st time this year, no make-up rounds were
reported
MEMBERS WHO MISSED Wk #15 & FUN NITE #3 ???
Bill Bunevich
Todd Cramer – may be out for the year with a bad back
Mark Hodgson – will loose his Championship/Winners eligibility if not made up
John Jankura
John Maar
Bob Martin
Alan Prock – has missed almost the whole year, hope he can make the
outing
Scott White – he too has missed a lot, hope he can make the outing
REMEMBER, even though yesterday was a FunNite, the format was one
that availed itself to the usual and customary procedures, you have one week to play make-up rounds. You must
play the same side that the league was originally scheduled to play. Turn your scorecards into a Creekwood
Clubhouse Counter Staff Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or
give it to me on Tuesday.

This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills

a friendly
REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the
scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!
Skin
News…
Apparently, Tommy will no longer be assisting us with The Skins Games
entries. From this time on, the
Skins Game will revert back to the honors; self serve method that we used in
the past. Please be sure to mark
yourself paid when you deposit your $5 entry fee into the Skin Box.
IF YOU ARE NOT MARKED AS PAID, YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED TO BE
PARTICIPATING IN THE GAME!
SKIN
RESULTS for Wk #15…
we had 44 players for a nice BIG pot of $220… unfortunately it mostly goes to just 1 guy!
Low Net (29) – Mike Milam – $44
Pin #12 – Joe Russo – $44 – Bill Pfeil Jr.’s guest
Pin #17 – Jerry Pochatek – $44
ONE Skin was out @ $88…
#16 – eagle – Mike Milam
Tradition dictates that they buy you a drink, or be
heckled miserably!
NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET! It makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see
the TRUE SKINS!
