FUN NIGHT #3…  what do YOU think?

LEAGUE INFO…

Recap…
Tuesday, July 27th was the twelfth play date of the DUFFERS 2004 season.  The weather was reminiscent of this spring.  Cool, cloudy, dreary, and drizzly.  Attendance was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING with only 29 of 44 members (66%) and 6 guests make their way to the tee box.  Member attendance for the year has now slipped to an embarrassing 84%, while total attendance, including guests and make-up rounds stands at 95%.

As noted above, we had 6 guests play with the Duffers last night and I’m wondering if we should re-think the leagues position on the ‘guest fee’?  I agree that expanding the Duffer experience has always been one of our goals, and the added revenue it brings to the golf course is much needed and appreciated.  If we had a league in front of us, and if we were to experience a higher percentage of member attendance, access to the tee would become quite a premium!  The dues paying members need something to show for their ‘up front expenditure’ besides a few fun nights.  Additionally, the added income of the guest fee would supplement the somewhat restricted Duffer prize pool.  Here are the numbers…

As you can see, the guests keep coming.  My question to you, the dues-paying membership, is how do you feel this effects your Duffer experience and how do you feel we should handle this subject in the future?  As always, I’m sure this subject will be discussed at the ’05 Spring Kick-off Meeting next March.  Until then, think about it and see if you can come up with an equitable solution.

We had 33 players and a pot of  $165

Tradition dictates that they buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!
NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET!  It makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!

MORON’S CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.

47 – 8 = 39 not 41 – Denny Scheelk

a friendly REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!
