FUN NIGHT #3… what do YOU think?
LEAGUE INFO…
Recap…
Tuesday, July 20th was the eleventh play date and third Knock
Down of the DUFFERS 2004 season.
The weather again was wonderful, a momentary shower not withstanding. We had only 35 of 44 members (80%) and 11 guests
make their way to the tee box. Member
attendance for the year has fallen to 85%, while total attendance,
including guests and make-up rounds, is 96%.
As noted above, we had 11 guests play with the Duffers last
night and I’m wondering if we should re-think the leagues position on the
‘guest fee’? I agree that expanding the
Duffer experience has always been one of our goals, and the added revenue it
brings to the golf course is much needed and appreciated. If we had a league in front of us, and if we
were to experience a higher percentage of member attendance, access to the tee
would become quite a premium!
The dues paying members need something to show for their ‘up front
expenditure’ besides a few fun nights.
Additionally, the added income of the guest fee would supplement the
somewhat restricted Duffer prize pool.

As you can see, the guests keep coming. My question to you, the dues-paying membership, is how do you
feel this effects your Duffer experience and how do you feel we should handle
this subject in the future? As always,
I’m sure this subject will be discussed at the ’05 Spring Kick-off Meeting next
March. Until then, think about it and
see if you can come up with an equitable solution.

REMEMBER, you have one week to play make-up rounds. You must play the same side that the league
was originally scheduled to play. Turn
your scorecards into a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff Member, asking them to
place it in the Duffer File, or give it to me on Tuesday.

MORON’S
CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills
of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.
5+7+4+5+6+5+6+4+5 = 47 not 49 – John Jankura (J.J.)
4+5+3+7+6+4+5+4+4 = 42 not 43 – Bob Martin
a friendly REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the
scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!
