The JavaScript FORM above will encode your e-mail address for you. Type in your current e-mail address and hit the "Encode" button, select the result, and paste it into your webpage. In other words, if your current webpage contains:

The mailto URL contains only the e-mail address according to the official spec.

Some browsers support additional fields after the address. For example, <a href="mailto:[email protected]?subject=Syzzygy"> creates an address that when clicked on will not only launch an e-mail box but will also automatically fill in the Subject: field. This was supported by the original Mosaic and adopted by Netscape. However, Microsoft didn't support it until MSIE v5.
