My family--SHIELDS--starts 1000 years before Christ was born, the O'Siadhail Sept transplanted from Europe to the Emerald Isle...2600 years later William Shields was born in Antrim Ireland.
With thanks to Gonna Hamkens and her book of the Hamkens family we can trace back to Germany in the 1600's...here are the ancestors of my grandfather Bernard Hamkens.
My Grandmother Louise Koushkouski married Bernard Hamkens. This is the ancestry of my mother's family story.
