Class Meeting Number 1
Curriculum vs. Instruction

A- Curriculum:  An overall design for an educational program.  The curriculum for a CBVE (Competency Based Vocational Education) program consists of four major components:  a validated program task listing, performance standards, criterion referenced performance and knowledge tests, and learning activities (Blank, 1962).

B- Instruction:  The effective delivery of curriculum materials using a collection of skills, talents, modeling behaviors and presentational tools.

What are the elements in a curriculum document?

Glad you asked.  That's what this whole course is all about:  what goes into the document, why it goes there, and where you find out how to do it.

Just for shorthand, these are the things that make up a written Curriculum document.  Each will be explained in turn during the class this semester.
