Part 7
Shinya took his time walking back to the apartment. Toshiya kissing him had taken him by surprise. Sure the bassist was normally out going when he liked somebody... But Shinya would have never thought that the bluenette liked him. The seemingly frail bassist thought as he walked the cold morning air. It wasn't that he didn't find Toshiya attractive. Some one would have to be blind and... Impotent not to! He had to admit he was very, very flattered by Toshiya's attention.
*But... What if he's just... I mean after what Kaoru and Die did to him he's been fairly clingy to both me and Kyo. Maybe he's mistaking a need for comfort as attraction?*
He didn't want Toshiya turning to him just for comfort. As much as the idea of being with the bassist appealed to him, he couldn't. That decision made he turned back towards the apartment. Now he just had to find a way to let the bassist down gently.

When he got back he found Die and Kaoru playing cards at the table and Kyo bouncing on the couch practicing lyrics. Which made Kyo look more like an insane imp on crack then a genki little boy.
"Mou... Where's Toshiya?" He asked Kyo since Kaoru and Die were playing card with earplugs.
Kyo pointed down the hallway towards the bedroom but kept his screaming up. Shinya nodded his thanks and left his odd, Odd bandmates to their past times.
He knocked gently on the door to his and Kyo's room before creeping in. Toshiya was sitting on his bed picking at loose threads. He blinked at Shinya for a few moments before swiftly looking back at the cover. Shinya sighed and sat over beside Toshiya.
"Ah... Toshiya... About this morning..." Shinya started.
He really didn't want to hurt Toshiya's feelings. He didn't want to alienate someone who was such a good friend. Didn't help much that Toshiya was looking up at him through his hair like some little kid.
*And I'm supposed to be youngest...*
"Toshiya I'm really flattered... And.. Well I... Despite... I mean..."
*DAMN! I'm never good with words. Why can't I just Say something smart instead of stuttering like this?*
Toshiya had turned away at this point and Shinya Knew that the bassist was trying Not to show he was hurt. Sighing Shinya gave up on trying to talk. He couldn't really say anything but...
Looking at Toshiya's bowed head he couldn't help but want to comfort his friend.
"Totchi..." Shinya said helplessly reaching out a hand to somehow help.
"Iie... It's okay Shin-chan. I understand." Toshiya sniffed standing up and walking out the door.
"Totchi..."

Toshiya walked quickly past the screaming Kyo and the card playing guitarists to the window. Opening it he climbed out onto the fire escape and then shut the window. Then sat down in the corner where you couldn't be seen from inside. This is were everyone went when Shinya yelled at them for smoking or when the small confides of the apartment got too much.
He sat and well... Cried.

Kyo paused in his singing as he saw a teary eyed Toshiya practically run to the window and climb outside. He stopped jumping when a few minutes later Shinya didn't appear after the bassist.
*Don't tell me Shinya gave HIM up? That's it I officially live in an apartment of fools. Least I found a way to solve the recent problems.*
Kyo jumped off the couch and walked back to the bedrooms. Sticking his head in his room he saw Shinya sitting on his bed looking at his feet with a troubled expression.
"Shinya don't worry so much. He'll get over it. You can't do what you don't think is right. No matter how much it hurts him." Kyo said softly.
Shinya nodded and stood up giving Kyo one of his normal shy smiles.
"Yeah, I know. Thanks Kyo."
"Doitashimashita. Anyways I think I found a solution to the must get Kaoru and Die outa our way so we don't kill them problem." Kyo joked making Shinya grin behind his hand.
"Come on I'll tell the others at the same time." Kyo said over his shoulder as he walked back to the main area.
Shinya followed and laughed as Kyo pulled out the ear plugs quickly then screamed into the two guitarists ears.
"GYAH!!! KYO!!!" They yelled in unison.
"I have news." Kyo said loudly opening the window so Toshiya could hear.
"I think I've found a solution to our rooming problems. I've been searching for cheap places but since we recently got that record deal we have just a 'bit' more money. So I've found three places. Three of us can have our own apartment and the other two can stay here. That pathetic closet we've been calling a room can finally be used as it was supposed to be used. Emergency only." Kyo explained grinning.
"YATTA!!!" Die grinned and Kaoru sighed happily.
"Thank you Kyo. Now who's going to move out?" Kaoru asked.
"I think you two should get your own place. I figure no one will argue with that?" Kyo said giving a harsh stare to the guitarists which Shinya echoed.
Die and Kaoru looked away and mumbled something that sounded like agreement.
"Hmm, so who stays here?"
Shinya and Kyo looked at each other. Then to the window.
"Ne, Toshiya? Who you wanna stay with?" Kyo asked loudly.
.....
.....
"You."
.....
"Well then that's settled. I checked and you guys can all move out. Soon. Go. Now. I hate house guests." Kyo joked.
"Shut up midget man. We'll move out when we damn well please." Die grumbled.
"WHAT did you just call me?"
"You heard me warumono."
....
....
"OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW!!!! Stop it that hurts!"
"You deserve it you ASSHOLE!!!"
"OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW!!! SHIN-CHAN! KAO KAO SAVE ME!!!!"
Shinya and Kaoru gave each other long suffering looks.
"Lets start packing."
"Good idea."
