| Genesis 4:8-10 (NKJV) 8: Now Cain talked wth Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. 9: Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" He said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?" 10: And He said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground." So often we get ourselves into situations that we have no idea how to get ourselves out of. Do we ever stop to think that the first step in receiving forgiveness is admitting what we have done wrong? Using sarcasm is not the way to deal with our Father, and to get on His good side. He is true and just to forgive us, when our repentance comes from the heart. Cain did not have a heart of repentance which is why God cursed him from the land in which he dwelt. As you read further on in the story, Cain was more sorry for the punishment he received than for that in which he had done wrong to receive God's punishment in the first place. One must be willing to confess to God what he or she has done wrong. And one must ask for forgiveness with a humble heart. Search your heart and ask yourself if you have done this lately. God Bless!
