Pride/ Boasting
Psalm 10:4
Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Psalm 40:4
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4:6
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1 John 2:16
But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. James 4:16
These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that she innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, Proverbs 6:6-18
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate. Proverbs 8:13
Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud. Proverbs 29:23
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasephemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a mna."
