My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.
Isaiah 5:13-14
Therefore my people have gone into captivity, Because they have no knowledge; Their honorable men are famished, And their mulititude dried up with thirst. Therefore Sheol has enlarged itself And opened its mouth beyond measure; Their glory and their multitude and their pomp, And he who is jubilant, shall descend into it."
Jeremiah 4:22
"For My people are foolish, They have not known Me. They are silly (foolish) children, And they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, But to do good they have no knowledge."
Hosea 4:6
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children."
Acts 17:22-23
Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus (Hill of Ares or Mars Hill) and said, "Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.
