Chili Con Carne
If you are a garlic lover, you will love this hearty chili!

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef or chuck
3/4 cup onion, chopped
3/4 cup minced garlic
1 large green peppers, seeded and chopped
2 cans (1 lb. each) tomatoes
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1-2 Tbsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
1/2 tsp. parika
1 can (1 lb. each) kidney beans

Brown meat in heavy skillet; breaking it up as it cooks. Add onion and pepper; cook until soft. Add tomatoes, bay leaf, salt, cloves, chili powder, hot pepper sauce, and paprika. Cover; simmer for two hours; add hot water if necessary to keep mixture from thickening too much. Add beans; heat thoroughly. Remove bay leaf. Serve with corn chips, if desired. Makes 6 servings.
