Faith of My Mom
My mother has certainly stood the test of time,
Even when there has seemed no reason or rhyme,
To all the things that have happened around her,
Of her faith, she's always been steadfast and sure.

I questioned why I ever strayed from her teaching,
Always trying to lead me in the right direction,
At times I was so cold and left her reaching,
Now I long for Godly wisdom and protection.

No matter what direction I chose in life,
I didn't stop to think about bringing her strife,
I was selfish and undeserving of her love for me,
But Christ's love comes through her, so simple to see.

She was always that character of my conscience,
God on one shoulder, mom on the other,
She endured all my antics with incredible patience,
Never once making me feel that she wished for another.

She always had unmoveable faith and hope in me,
Even when others just wouldn't believe,
That I would actually take a look at my life,
And at the end of my tunnel, see that great light.

There were times when I envied her continuous faith,
Her love, her emotional staiblity, and her grace,
But since I have changed me; I can now see,
A little piece of her has been residing in me.

It took me a while to find it; I hid it for so long,
I suppose it took all the sorrows to make me strong,
After some soul-searching; I asked the Lord to lead,
And there was her faith, buried deep inside of me.

I thank God for the mother He gave to me.
I only hope that I can make the Father as proud,
As He is with my mother for all her humility,
And for her undying love for all who surround.
