It's Your Mind-You've Got The Power!
12/1/04

Phil. 4:6-8

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ.
Meditate on These Things
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.

If there be any virtue: intrinsic or (attributed) excellence.

The meaning: people who are filled with excellence achieve that excellence by the thoughts they have about themselves and about the world around them.

Thoughts are powerful:
1. They feed the seeds of greatness that are in our minds.
2. They can also nurse the negative insecurities that limit us and exempt us from us from greatness.

There is a virtue--excellence that comes from tranquil, peaceful thoughts that build positive character in our heart.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."

Psalm 139:17
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!

God will not do it without you-but He will do it through you.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Philippians 4:8
Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.

Cast is down: Repentance is when the mind decides to organize a mutiny overthrow of the thoughts that control your past.

Put Christ on the throne and your past on the cross.

Hebrews 13:15
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

He can take the sting out of the memory and leave a sweet taste of victory. Then we are enriched by our struggles and not limited.

Dead issues: They become obstacles that hinder us from deeper experiences in the Lord.

A clouded heart cannot move into the realm of faith.

It takes clarity to move in divine authority.

Clean out every thought that hinders the peace and power of God.

Matthew 5:8
Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

Don't carry around what God wants discarded.

What God wants to unveil to you is worth the cleaning-up to see.
