The Left Side of God
12/8/04

Job 23:8-9
"Look, I go forward, but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him; When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him.

It's hard to remain calm in crisis and faithful in frightening times.

Psalm 42:1-4
As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, "Where is your God?" When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.

The word "Worship" stems from the term "worthship." It expresses the worth of an object.

Some levels of worship are never received unless they are diligently sought.

Ex: The woman with the issue of blood for twelve years...
Her conscious decision to seek the impossible, released the virtue of God.

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

(diligently in this verse means constantly--seeking with your whole heart).

Acts 17:26-27
And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;

Searching releases answers. The word declares, "Seek and ye shall find."

Side note: God tells us to seek Him, though He is never hiding from us. This is when we should ask ourselves if we're looking for Him in the right place. Our we humbling ourselves enough to see Him? Seeking God also takes focus. We should pray and not just read His word, but meditate on it. We have two choices through our trials. We can refuse to seek God and simply "think" we can handle everything on our own, or we can seek God diligently, see Him and let Him handle those things for us.

Matthew 7:7
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

Isaiah 55:6-7
See the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon."

He has a set time to bless you. (God's time is not our time).

Habakkuk 2:3
For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Then Job said looking back, I could not percive Him.

The issue is not so much His presence as it is my perception.

Deliverence comes when my mind accepts His timing and purpose in my life.

Psalm 16:11
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures
forevermore.

When you see Him it suggests that you value Him and recognize His ability.

But His strength is made perfect in weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Job 23:8-10
"Look, I go forward, but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him; When He works on the left hand I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him. But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.

Job knew he would come out okay, he knew that God knew his situation(s). Never forget, in the midst of your trial, God is right there...and there can be joy.
