Are You Watching?
Matthew 24:42
"Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

Matthew 24:36
"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

Matthew 24:40-41
"Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left."

1 Thessalonians 5:4
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

From the Word, we do know about some of the events and conditions that will be taking place during that time.

Matthew 24:37-39
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Did the people in Noah's day seen any of the signs that Noah told them was coming?

Luke 21:34
"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkeness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on your unexpectedly."

So that day can come upon you and catch you unaware. You were thinking "it's just another day, I'm doing my thing as usaual. I'm too busy!"

Luke 21:35-36
"For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."

You have to be watching for Jesus' return because the Rapture has a purpose-it's to get you out of here before things get bad.

Revelation 3:10
"Because you have kept My command to perservere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth."

Matthew 24:45-51
"Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made rule over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. But if that evil servant says in his heart, "My master is delaying his coming,' and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour he is not aware of, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

2 Peter 3:3-4
knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation."

Watch means to be sleepless, keep awake, to be circumspect, attentive, ready. It also means to follow..to chase.

These are the four places in the Bible where this watch appears.

Luke 21:36
"Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."

Hebrews 13:17
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch our for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

Mark 13:33
"Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is."

Ephesians 6:18
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perserverance and supplication for all the saints--

Romans 13:11-14
And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkeness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
