"...that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures." 1 Corinthians 15: 3, 4

Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man commeth unto the Father, but by me." John 14: 6 Why did Christ come? Well, he came to die. He was taken and beaten and humiliated, He was nailed to a tree and crucified. Now, God had declared that "the soul that sinneth, it shall die" Ezekiel 18: 20 But did Christ sin? No! Then why did He die? "...because we thus judge that if one died for all, then where all dead." If it wasn't for His own self and His own sin that He died then His death was for others, it was substitutionary. He died for those who were already "dead in treaspasses and sins". He died in our place and not only this but He "bore our sins upon the tree" "For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5: 21 Jesus Christ died to pay the debt of sin that you and I could not pay. He was then buried, but God did not leave Him in the grave. Christ was raised up from the dead, gaining victory over the grave, he was seen after His ressurection by hundreds of people and having accomplished all that He came to perform He assended to God, having declared "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." Matthew 28: 18 Being raised up from the dead, having accomplished his saving work of redemtion of mankind, providing the terms of reconciliation for sinful man to a Holy God He was set down at the right hand of God and made Lord of all.

So Why do we need Jesus Christ? Because we are justified in the sight of God by faith, not faith in just anything, but faith in the truth. Adam died by faith in a lie and so we will live by faith in the truth. The truth is God's Word and God's Word is Jesus Christ. You see, God has declared all under sin and all being under sin are condemned. All being condemned are in need of salvation, salvation is by faith in God's declared truth and God's declared truth is Jesus Christ, the sinless, perfect sacrifice for sinful man, put to death, buried, raised up again and seated at the right hand of God all things being put in subjection under Him, He is Lord of all. We are justified by faith in the Finished Work of Christ "who was delivered for our offences and was raised again for our justification." Romans 4: 25

Now, when given information you can treat it three ways; You can Reject it, You can Neglect it, or You can Recieve it. Rejection and Neglect have the same end, condemnation. For it is written "...he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." John 3: 17, 18 You see, it doesn't matter whether you neglect this great salvation or if you reject it, as long as you are not recieving it you stand in the same state in which you have lived your whole life "in Adam" under sin. You are condemned already. "But as many as recieved Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." John 1: 12 "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him, should not perish but have everlastion life." John 3: 16 "He that hath the Son, hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." 1 John 5: 12

So how do we recieve Christ?
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
It is written "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10: 9, 10 And "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10: 13

Upon believeing in the Lord and His ressurection life we must recognize His Lordship. If I truly beleive that He died on a cross to pay for my sins and that he was buried only to be raised from the dead by the power God, if He is lifted up and given a name above every name, seated at the right hand of God, all things being put in subjection under Him, If I beleive this I will turn away from all that I may trust in for righteousness and cling solely to Him, I will recognize His Lordship. Many people turn to God in prayer, others quietly confess Christ, recieving the promise of righteousness by faith and calling on the Lord Jesus to save them. As it is written "...for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4: 12 And having recieved salvation Christ dwells in our hearts by His Holy Spirit whom God has sent to comfort, to guide, to convict, to intercede for and to teach His children.
