Revival
How do we get Revival, continued...
Let's look at an example from the epistle of James "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." James 4: 6-10. Here we see several elements, primarily, God's grace. To start this off let us acknowledge plainly that our God is a gracious God. If not for His grace then we would simply die in our sins, no hope of repentance. And having seen and understood that He is gracious despite our sins we acknowledge that He resists the proud but will give grace to the humble. Next we see several commands issued in rapid succession with an occasional promise upon obedience; "Submit to God" "Resist the Devil, he will flee from you." "Draw nigh to God, He will draw nigh unto you" "Cleanse your hands" "Purify your hearts" "Be afflicted" "Mourn" "Humble yourself" And after all this is the final promise "...and He shall lift you up." The Lord promises that if we turn to Him He will turn again to us.

Let us turn to the Lord, examining ourselves in order to "cleanse our hands" and to "purify our hearts". Let us repent, and having repented let us pray. For it is also written "Draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh unto you"

In September 2004, a dear friend and I started to pray every morning on the phone for revival if by any means the Lord might hear our prayers and grant that even if only one more time, He should pour out His Spirit on His people and grant true revival. Not that which comes about by loud speakers and bands and emotional hype but that which comes from His power in repentence and purity. It may or may not be in large numbers but the effect is the same, God is glorified.

I would like to invite all born again beleivers in the crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ who read this to join us in morning prayer for the moving of the Spirit of God in His people, whether in Canada or anywhere else in the world. You can commit to pray by yourself or with a friend for just a few minutes or however the Lord leads but if you reach this determination please  send me an email to let me know. I will keep posted on the Home Page the number of people or groups who join in this Prayer Call for Revival.

Here are the words of my favorite hymn:

Be thou my vision oh Lord of my heart
Nought be all else to me save that Thou art
Thou my best thought by day or by night
Waking or sleeping Thy presence my Light

Be Thou my Wisdom and Thou my true Word
I ever with Thee and Thou with me Lord
Thou my great Father and I Thy true son
Thou in me dwelling and I with Thee one

Riches I heed not nor man's empty praise
Thou mine inheritence now and allways
Thou and Thou only first in my heart
High King of Heaven my Treasure Thou art

High King of Heaven my victory won
May I reach Heaven's joy oh bright Heaven's Sun
Heart of my own heart what ever befalls
Still be my vision oh Ruler of all
