| Evangelistic Journey #3 Glencoe, Ontario September 26, 2004 Joshua Robinson Glencoe ON. Population: 3000? Contacts: None. I left St. Thomas around 4: 45 pm and headed toward Strathroy. Being uncertain of where to go I prayed for direction from God. After a while I determined to go into Strathroy to engage in evangelistic work but as I approached the town I realized that God had other plans. I had made a wrong turn and was headed southwest rather than northwest and ended up in a small town named Glencoe which is really quite far from where I had originally planned to go. But the Lord brought me there so I went to work. I handed out 53 tracts and surveyed 28 people in the 2 hours that I was there. Many of the people were drunk and therefore not very receptive but I had a few good conversations and many opportunities to present the gospel of Jesus Christ. I found that there were many church buildings in the town, Pentecostal, Anglican, United and Roman Catholic and most of the people I talked to were affiliated with these in one way or another. Sadly, of all the people that I talked to there were only two (a mother and daughter) who were sure of their salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Most seemed perfectly content in their beliefs. My prayer is that the Lord will use the efforts that were made there to bring some to Him. |
