JAMES BABY SWIM
An introduction to . . .

Dear Future Swimmer,
Baby swimming opens a world of possibilities, encourages personal and physical development, but most importantly of all is fun.

Come to one of the best pools in London for this type of activity. Hospital based in the ideal environment, with highly specialised instructors, become involved in this extraordinary learning experience.

The classes first focus on your babys enjoyment and happiness in the water, then increasing their safety and independence and finally producing a swimmer.

The whole process is a subtle development over your babys early years. Although you will be amazed at what they can achieve in their first lesson.

The courses run in 10 week blocks of 30 minutes per week.

Babies can start from 8 weeks old up to about 30 months. It is always recommended that you consult your birth professional so as to make an informed decision about when to start baby swimming.

All you need to bring is you, your baby and some snug fitting aquanappies or similar.

Our courses run at Guys Hospital, by London Bridge Station. (easy access by train, tube and bus).

The hydrotherapy pool is in the basement of Thomas Guy House. (they will give you direction from reception. It always looks closed when you get there, just push the door.)

Classes run between 2pm and 4pm on Tuesdays. When returning your booking form you will be allocated an appropriate place after we have spoken with you.

If you have any further questions then please contact us.

Re: baby/toddler swimming?  Author:froggy Date:07Oct03 08:36
I take my daughter to baby swimming classes at Guy's Hospital hydrotherapy pool. These are proper supervised sessions lasting 1/2 hour with an excellent instructor, James Munday. The sessions are for small groups of children of similar proficiency (no more than 7). I was unhappy with some baby swimming sessions in pools which were just glorified baths: the water is warmer and you are left to get on with it. With James Munday, there is a real project (ensuring that your child does not drown - water safety is paramount), and a progression towards that goal.  James Munday can be contacted on 020 72372110 and 07952191645.

Hi James, Just wanted to say thank you for letting me join the group.  A++++ & I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  A++++ absolutely loved it and she was in a fantastic mood during and after the session (it may also have to do with the the 2 hour nap she did after the session!) Could you please confirm the dates of the next 9 sessions for me? Many thanks. Please e-mail me or call me if you want to discuss (020 7+++ ++++) G++++++
