Pam Thurston
Class of 1970

Almost as soon as she graduated from John Rennie High School in 1970, Pam hit the road. The journey from there to here included travel to Europe, South America and across North America as well as periods of residence in Ontario, British Columbia and currently Alberta. She returned to school twice, in 1974 to study photography at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, and in 1992 she graduated "with distinction" from the University of Alberta proudly waving her Bachelor of Fine Art degree. In 2000 she took the plunge, left her job (and her kids!) in the city and moved to the country to paint full-time. She is now living in a small lakeside community southwest of Edmonton, happily painting and getting on with her life-long dream of being a successful visual artist.
