The intent of this page is to
provide Race Results for Team NUB.
Mickey's
Mountain Bike Challenge, www.mickeysmtn.com , April 16, 2000.
Well, I tried. How's that? I did a time of 2:26:28. Lap 1
was 40 minutes, Lap 2 was 42 min. and Lap 3 was 45
minutes. It doesn't add up because when I stopped moving,
my cycle computer stopped timing. I finished dead last in
my class, I believe. I don't know how many in my class
yet, but hopefully I'll figure that out. But, given how I
was feeling, finishing was a triumph in and of itself.
I had to do 3 laps. The promoters said it was 15 miles,
but I clocked it at 13.1 or so. (1 lap was 4.3 or so). It
wasn't the worst track, but it had a lot of climbing.
Having only only ridden 30 miles this year, I learned a
lesson. Prepare. It was a new venue and that was cool.
There were about 60-70 folks racing we figured. Not bad.
Nick finished
4th out of 5 in his class. Nick was an official Team NUB
member as he wore Lori's team shirt. He did us proud. It
was neat to see the blank stare someone has after they
finish a race. He did good his first time out.
