Old Edwardians Cricket Club

Studley v Old Edwardians West Midlands 3rd XI League Away, 7 July 2001 Result: Old Edwardians 3rd XI won by 132 runs Old Edwardians batted solidly enabling them to declare after 47 overs on 202 for 3 giving themselves 53 overs to dismiss Studley. The backbone of the batting was a fine innings of 65 from Chris Wallis and a patiently made 45 from Anthony Christopher. The 'Silver Fox' David Dallaway weighed in with another unbeaten innings at the end of 32 to raise the score to its final tally. Despite a solid start which saw Studley reach 40-1 after 11 overs, the introduction of the wily Dallaway and the equally difficult spin of Terry Dean saw the runs dry up and the wickets fall. Studley subsided to 70 all out with Dean taking 2 wickets for 4 runs from 10 overs. Dallaway found another wicket that suited his style of bowling and ended up with 6 for 32. This result keeps the Old Edwardians firmly in the top three of the league.
