Old Edwardians v Kenilworth
Warwickshire Cricket League - Division One - 2nd XIs
Memorial Ground, Streetsbrook Road, SOlihull, 14 July 2001
Result: Old Edwardians 2nd XI won by 4 wickets.
Kenilworth 88 AO, Old Edwardians 89 for 6. Old Edwardians won by 4 wickets. Old Eds 20 points, Kenilworth 2 points.
Going into the game, both sides were tied for fifth place on 126 points. Old
Edwardians won the toss and put Kenilworth in to bat. Gopal Budhia took a
wicket with the first ball of the innings and this set the tone for the
innings. Eds continued to take wickets at regular intervals, dismissing
Kenilworth for 78. Budhia took 3 for 21 and there were 2 wickets apiece for
Katyal, R Jones and Fletcher, with one run out. Despite the low total, Old Eds
made hard work of scoring the runs against an economical attack. Opener Terry
MacMichael scored 22 but the game swung Eds’ way when Budhia came to the wicket
and hit a rapid 25 from 33 balls.
Old Edwardians move up to third in the table.
