League leaders Old Edwardians lost the toss and were put into bat. They got
off to a slow start, scoring 52 for 3 off 25 overs. Dominic Ridley blasted a
quickfire 58 from 66 balls including 3 fours and 2 sixes. Qasim continued the
rapid scoring and Old Eds finished on 188 for 7 from 50 overs. Kenilworth got
off to a solid start and were 50 without loss after 12 overs. John Nicholls
came on to bowl and quickly removed one of the openers. Old Eds then took
wickets at regular intervals, never allowing the Kenilworth batsmen to build
partnerships. After 41 overs, Kenilworth had lost 9 wickets but Old Eds failed
to take the crucial tenth wicket to secure victory. Nicholls returned
impressive figures of 4 for 30 from 18 overs. A winning draw for Old Eds. Old
Edwardians extend their lead at the top of the table over Solihull Municipal to
26 points.
