Old Edwardians Cricket Club
Bedworth v Old Edwardians
West Midlands 3rd XI League - Division One
Paul's Land, Bedworth, 14 July 2001
Result: Old Edwardians 3rd XI won by 164 runs.
Old Edwardians batted first on a damp pitch and after initially struggling
against accurate bowling, compiled 217 for 9 in 50 overs. David Dallaway who
scored 69, and John Evans, who made 83, shared a partnership of 120 runs. This
total proved to be far too large for Bedworth who collapsed to 53 all out. The
damage was done by the pace of Jonathan Christopher, who took 7 for 29 and the
swing of Matt Melia (3 for 24). Mike Tracey was outstanding behind the stumps,
taking four fine catches.
Old Edwardians consolidated their top three position and are looking to
challenge leaders Moseley in the weeks ahead.
