Meet the Lawson Family!

The Lawson Family

The Lawsons come to us from Lethbridge, Alberta. Chuck and Jan Lawson are married to each other but Wayne is not. Now this gets confusing, as they are identical twins Chuck and Wayne, that is! These guys have become good friends of mine in the last year.

Its an understatement to say that they are awesome musicians and the really incredible thing is they even let an amateur like me play with them. Chuck plays steel guitar, lead guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo, doboro, and probably a few others hes not telling me about. But if you think you can figure them out by which instrument each one plays, youre in trouble because Wayne plays the same ones! Wayne and Chuck have both played professionally with great artists like Dick Dammeron, George Hamilton IV, Joanne Cash Yates (Johnny Cashs sister), and Ken Holloway.

Chucks wife Jan enhances this group with her lovely singing voice, not to mention grace, good looks, and charm. Together with husband Chuck and brother-in-law Waynes harmony, these guys have a great sound.

But theres one more group member whom Ive saved till now to tell you about, as he is not a direct family member. His name is Nick Bloudoff and he hails from Coaldale, Alberta. Nick plays bass for the group and provides us all with his wit and charm. Nick is easy to pick out as he is the old guy/wise guy (they say wisdom comes with old age) up on the stage. Nick also plays with a group called the Kings Echoes, as well as John FitzHerbert and the Christian Cowboys, which is where I met them. Now if you think we pick on old Nick a bityoure absolutely right: hes an easy target. I know you will enjoy these guys as much as we have, and make sure you take a chance to get to know this group.
