(October 26, 1929-January 9, 1991) She was the only daughter of the late Bishop Johnny N. Jones and Mary Ella Marshall Lewis Jones. Her siblings included brothers and sisters Zachariah Lewis and Monroe Jones, Johnny Jones, Mitchell Jones, Frank Jones, David Jones, Andrew Jones, Doll Jones, and Marie Jones all of whom are now deceased. As a child, she was called "Mo". She was an outgoing and very friendly person. She went to school at Freemont and then to Van Buren High School where she won several trophies for playing basketball. Her early employment included domestic work and cooking at the Fish Camp and Pappas Restaurant. She worked as a nursing assistant at the nursing home in Eufaula, Alabama. She prided herself on caring for her patients in a dignified and professional manner. She was loved by all who knew her. She was an excellent and skilled cook and baker. She was delighted to bake one of her homemade cakes and give it as a gift. Her hobbies were gardening, canning, and sewing. She always had a desire to "strike it rich" and give to her family and friends, so many would be surprised to learn that she loved mailing off sweepstakes entries. Her most lasting legacy was simply her smile. She had the kind of smile that could heal a hurting soul, calm a fussy child, or tame an angry lion. To top

According to old stories, Willie finally accepted the call to preach God's word after several events one being while he was gambling in an old cellar. He said that the ground began to shake underneath the table and he quickly jumped up and left but not before grabbing his money off of the table. Sadly to say, this single event did not lead to his conversion. He was a member of Freemont A.M.E. Church of Bakerhill, Alabama. He sang in the choir, and he was a great prayer leader. On any given day, he would carry his can of Prince Albert tobacco in the front pocket of his overalls. He loved to eat biscuits with ice-cream, and he hated cornbread. He drove raggedy old cars such an old Studebaker, Chevrolet, and Cadillac. He loved to wear nice clothes and nice shoes. To top
