Youth The gnawing pangs of the technology-driven, selfish society impacts the youth of today greatly. Admit it or not, we live in a day of intense extremes. The Filipino youths are facing many attacks from different facades. According to statistics, one out of six pregnancies end up in abortion. One in every 10 of the country;s youth is believed to be a user of illegal drugs. There are 1.7 million street children nationwide. As the country braces for more economic crisis, the country becomes a fatherless nation, as families strive to exist and take the risk abroad. There must be something more than disasters, problems, distress and hardships. There MUST be a solution. And who said that we cannot do anything about it? If we would take a look back, we will see that during the EDSA DOS, 90% of the crowds were young people. And these youth dethroned the President! The recent mutiny that happened in the Oakwood Hotel, was led by JUNIOR officers, meaning they are the younger generation of our military who are really desiring for change. As we can see, our generation is very hungry for change. And this hungry will not just fade away, if the older generation is going to feed us with Baby food. Those little things that make us busy chewing not knowing that our gums are already bleeding, and we opt for something better. There is a third voice that needs to be heard! We believe that the history makers of this nation are from the youth. And these youth, who are pertained to as the hope of the nation are inside the campuses and universities. There is a big need for radical change. This change does not rely on the president of the state and the government, as the nation looks forward that the next election will save the country from the height that it has fallen. The future of our beloved land is in the hands of those little kids inside schools. If we could just stir up these young hearts and make them burn so their eyes will be opened and their concern for their country will start to consume the wickedness of this nation, we will prove that We are the youth, and we make history.Two revolutions have already took place here in our country, where we were really there to witness, but is it really the solution? We believe that a revolution, which is born from hatred, is the WRONG revolution, and this will never produce a positive change. Only when there is a revolution in prayer will there be a revolution of faith. When there is a revolution in faith, will there be a revolution in life; and when there is a revolution in life, there will be a change in character. The real solution can be found among us. Just think about this We cannot stumble when we are on our knees.
