biograpy:
Milwaukee-based emo quartet the Promise Ring formed in early 1995 from the remnants of acclaimed local acts Cap'n Jazz, Ceilishrine, and None Left Standing. Comprising singer/guitarist Davey VonBohlen, guitarist Jason Gnewikow, bassist Scott Schoenbeck and drummer Dan Didier, the group signed to Jade Tree in 1996, and over the course of the year which followed issued no less than two seven-inches ("Falsetto Keeps Time" and a split release with Texas Is the Reason), a full-length LP (30 Degrees Everywhere) and a singles compilation (The Horse Latitudes). The critical favorite Nothing Feels Good followed in 1997, and two years later the Promise Ring returned with their third album, Very Emergency. -all music guide
