Notes Regarding the Computers at W.U.M.C.

For the PowerPoint at Wesley United Methodist Church we use a laptop.

Note, plug in the projection system (black cable) into the back of the laptop, plug in the mouse, zip drive, power cord to the zip drive, and plug in the computer power cord first, then turn on the laptop (and the Audio Power and Video Power on the control panel).

Turning the laptop On - The power switch for the laptop is on the left hand side. Slide the slider cover if need be, and then press the button. Note: with the projection system plugged in, the computer usually defaults to the external display and the laptop display appears blank! Press Fn & F5 to see image on the laptop computer screen. The Fn key is in the lower left of the the keyboard. (At the login dialog box, click CANCEL because you don't need a password.)

Fn & F5 - There are three video output modes that cycle through each time you press Fn & F5. They are:

Location of files and File Names on the laptop:

We do have a zip drive if large files need to be transferred. It is on the rolling cart with the mobile projector and VCR, which is usually stored in the store room off the Atrium. Plug the zip drive in the back of the laptop and plug in the power for the zip drive.

The laptop computer was donated to the church by Bonnie Barker. We are very grateful to Bonnie.
