Arrived in Yakima at nine thirty am and to my room #30 in Camlu apts. The people here are very nice and there is an active program, Tuesday night there is pop corn and movies, Wednesday bingo, Thursday shopping, Friday bingo, Saturday and Sunday are days off, five days a week there is exercise classes and one day a week they take you to the doctor. There is an laundry room and you don't have to pay, also there is a card room and of course a kitchen and you get three meales a day and your room is cleaned each week. They furnish the linen, sheets, towels etc. On Wednesday there is prayer meetings on Sunday two meetings, one Catholic and one Protestant. There about sixty people living here besides the management and help.I have had many visitors from Sunnyside. I like the bus service here and the taxi is good and reasonable. It takes about ten minutes to get down town on a bus.The cost is $580.00 per month.I can't get a drivers license so I sold my car for $500.00 Thers also a barber and a beauty salon available for the residents. Once a month the old fiddlers come to intertain us. and quite often there are other specials for us.to enjoy. Once a month we have an hour of sacred songs.(Dusty Rose) I purchased a grave sight at the cemetary in Sunnyside and paid for one for Gloria, beside the Hatley grave.
