We arrived in Sunnyside in 1965 and lived in a trailer court, we bought a house on Edison street, a nice two bedroom home. WE put in air conditioning and fixed it allup nice.I was appointed president of the Golden age club and was active in the Church. My wife died on April 13th., 1873, I lived here alone for almost twelve years. Gloria had a job in Yakima at the memorial hospital. Archie and his wife both died while I lived here, they were burried in a cemetary at Burlington. Shortly after my wife died I sold the trailer, lost interest in travelling. In 1983 Gloria put on a party for my eighty fifth birthday, it was held at the Baptist church, had a lot of friends at the party. It cost me one thousand dollars the last year I lived in Sunnyside.---so I decided to sell the place and as I had promised a friend that I would gove him first chance to buy the place I told him I was selling and he asked me how much I was asking for the place, I told me and he said he would take it and a short time later he called up and said I can't raise the money. I told him I would give it to a realestate dealer and hung up on the phone and as I started to go down stairs the door bell rang and a man that had a thropy office next door asked me if I would sell and I said yes and gave hime the price and he accepted. Sold or gave most of my things away and arranged to go to Yakima to a retirement home called Camlu. Gloria gave me a birthday party. While here in Sunnyside I started an AARP chapter #2990. On May the elevent I mobed out.
