96. Walter Hately was born about 1786 in Scotland. He appeared on the census on 2 Oct 1850 in Louisville, St. Lawrence Co., New York.⁽²⁵⁶⁾ Walter is living with his daughter Lydia and son-in-law Robert Clements. He died about 1852. He was married to Lydia Sample.

97. Lydia Sample died about 1850. She was born in New York. Children were:

i. Mary Ann Hately was born about 1819. She died about 1903.

iii. James Mark Hately was born about 1829. He appeared on the census on 6 Aug 1850 in Lisbon, St. Lawrence Co., New York.⁽²⁵⁷⁾ He appeared on the census on 15 Aug 1860 in Lisbon, St. Lawrence Co., New York.⁽²⁵⁸⁾ Listed with Robert and Luthera Hatley. He died about 1905.
iv. Lydia Hately was born about 1864.
