David Ewin, 6, of LeMars, was given first aid by Dr. L. C. O'Toole on Friday night after he was struck by a car at the New Deal Park. The boy received only bruises after he allegedly dashed in front of a car driven by Bob Whelan during a ball game at the park. The report received at the Mayor's office in LeMars stated that the boy who lives on route 5, LeMars with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ewin, had been attending a Bible class at the park and ran after a ball across the road not noticing the approaching car. (Note: This article spelled the surname as Ewing. The article also listed David's grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Ewin incorrectly as his parents.
