Welcome to all Family Historians!
Welcome to my little bit of information on the world wide web. My name is Jacque (short for Jacqueline), and I currently live in central California. I find researching family history to be very exciting. Making a connection with ancestors, learning the history of where they lived and what was happening at the time they lived. Like most families who came to the United States, my family settled on the east coast and migrated west. My maternal line comes from the South (North Carolina and Virginia) and my paternal line comes from the North (Vermont and New York). The diversities between the two areas are fascinating.I have been researching my family history for approximately three years. A number of years before that I had been given two undocumented pedigree charts; one for each side of my family. After glancing at them briefly, I put them in a drawer and forgot about them. Then one day my Mother showed me a photo of my great grandmother and asked if I could find out where she was born. That, as they say, was that. I was hooked. Still haven't discovered where my great grandmother was born but have learned a lot of history.
The family names I am researching are DAVENPORT, LATHAM, and PARSONS from North Carolina and Virginia; as well as ROGERS from Vermont and HATLEY from New York. I want to express a special thank you to all the cousins that I have met while researching these families. They have been extremely helpful in providing information for this web site. We span this country from Washington, Oregon, California, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Nevada, Maryland and Louisiana.
