The Carousel

The magic of a Carousel forever excites the joy,
In hearts of young and old alike,
Grand-parents, girls, and boys.
We impatiently, yet stand, enchanted by all the glorious beauty,
Rich colors, polished mirrors, opulent, and such,
Waiting for the ticket-taker to perform his important duty.
Hand-carved figures that spin round and round,
To the innocent songs of childhood, again and again rebounds
Totally wrapped in the magical pace, and all its wonderful sounds.
We smile and cheer at children’s timeless dance,
The old `Merry-go-Round` and its spell,
Yet, thrill once more with in a captivating trance.
To the magnificent ---- `Magic Of the `Carousel`.

The Old MERRY-GO-ROUND

Carousels are awesome. I love to ride them.

Note:
Though originated in Europe, the carousel is
considered an American classic. During its `Golden Age` (1880-1930) over
6,000 of these hand-carved wonders revolved to band, organ, or calliope melodies.
Yet, today barely 200 remain. Fortunately, most have been restored so
future generations may enjoy their nostalgic enchantment.
The majestic history’s skilled Carousel craftsmen were:
Charles Carmel, Salvatore Cernigliaro, Frank Carretta, Gustav Dentzel, M.C. Illions,
Leo Zoller, Daniel Muller, and John Zalar.
Truly, let us stand, and applaud, their imagination, and artistry.

I would be delighted if you sign my guestbook.
